Frequently Asked Questions

  • We do not. Elective services are not covered under any insurance policies. Families choosing us for their diagnostic services may request an Itemized Bill, that will include any billing codes needed for clients to submit on their own for potential reimbursement. We cannot guarantee that you will receive any money back from your insurance as we will be considered an “out of network provider.”

  • We cannot promise the perfect picture every time. The size of the baby, the amount of amniotic fluid, maternal body habitus, and or the position of the baby at the time of the ultrasound are a few factors that could prevent baby’s perfect image.  We recommend you make an extra effort to keep hydrated (drink water) in the days leading up to your scheduled appointment.

  • At 16 weeks or more, we will try anything within reason to get your baby to move their legs during your allotted scan time. Sometimes babies can be just too stubborn to change positions, in which case, we will reschedule your appointment at no additional charge.

  • Two pieces!  Your belly will need to be exposed in order to perform the ultrasound.  We highly recommend loose fitting bottoms that you can easily scoot below your hips for the exam.

  • There is no evidence that ultrasound is harmful when used according to guidelines.  The sonographer will follow all of the guidelines to ensure that you and your baby are safe.

  • 3D/4D Ultrasound is considered just as safe as 2D ultrasound.  A 3D ultrasound is made up of sections of the two dimensional data gathered in a rotational arrangement, that is then converted into a picture.
